History of JCSRS

Jockey Club Sarah Roe School was established in 1986 with six students.  It is named after a local Occupational Therapist, who was instrumental in setting up special educational needs provision for English speakers in Hong Kong.  Funding for the current building was provided by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.  The founding Head Teacher was Mike Doherty, who remained at JCSRS until 2008.
